Hello Crocheting World!

My name is Lyndie. I am a wife, a mother of three amazing kids, a grandmother to one grandson and of course a dog (3) momma as well. I was born and raised in Kansas. In 1999, I met my wonderful husband and moved to the great state of Missouri. I was a stay at home mom for 15 years. I then decided that I needed to get out and start interacting with adults…. there was only so much I could talk to my 5 years old son about.

I was very picky on what kind of job I wanted. I wanted to be home when my kiddos were home, I wanted to me home during the summer with them. That’s when I made the choice to start looking into the local school district.

In 2009, I started my school district career as a recess aide (I loved that job!! Outside, watching the student get their energy out) at a local elementary school. I was approached by another employee at the school, letting me know that they thought I would be a great fit for a new building opening up for a paraprofessional position. I thought about it and went for it. I got hired on at a behavioral learning center in May of 2011.

Working as a Special Education Paraprofessional was A LOT! More bad days then good, but when we had good days… they were so rewarding. I absolutely loved the team that I worked with… we all had each others backs, whenever needed. We were a true work family.

Then COVID HIT!!! AND THE WORLD SHUT DOWN!!

Online schooling was hard, especially with the students we worked with. We had class meetings three times a day. But I also had time on my hands. So I started crocheting.

I learned how to crochet from my grandma and my great grandma. I was fortunate to spend a lot of my childhood with these wonderful humans. They had patience to sit there and teach me how to single crochet. Once I learned that stitch, then i moved up to double crochet, etc. It was so rewarding to be able to loop and knot this yarn in my hand and start seeing something form.

I pretty much have been crocheting here and there ever since. I have made lots of different items…. hats, ear warmers, slippers, blankets, animals, etc.

I hope you enjoy this blog… I’m 100% new at it, but I want to share my passion of what I love doing with other. I want to give my opinion on hooks, yarns, patterns, videos, etc.

Please reach out if you have any questions or comments.

Hope you all have a wonderful day and HAPPY HOOKING 🙂
